1. What is the minimum length of charter and how are the rates calculated?
    Charter rates are quoted per week for the hire of the yacht. Seven days is generally the minimum, although some yachts may consider charters of less than seven days. Charters commence from noon the first day and terminate on noon the last day. High season rates apply to the most popular periods i.e. July/August, Christmas/New Year, Monaco Grand Prix, and Cannes Film Festival.
  2. Is VAT applicable on the charter fee?
    Commercially registered yachts are usually tax exempt, however in   the EU  VAT applies on yachts which are not commercially registered.
  3. What is included in the charter rate?
    A fully commissioned yacht with all necessary equipment, insured,   managed by crew, whose wages, food and clothing are for the owners account. All other expenses are payable by the charterer i.e. fuel and lub.oil, local taxes, pilotage, port and marina dues, custom clearance, water and electricity, food and drinks, telecommunication costs, and all consumables for the charterer party.
  4. What is MYBA?
    MYBA is the Mediterranean Yacht Brokers Association and is a  worldwide leading professional trade association of yacht brokers and charter agents founded in 1984 promoting standards of professionalism in the yachting industry.
  5. What are the payment terms for a charter?
    A deposit of 50% of the total charter fee is payable on the   signature of the Charter Agreement. This confirms your booking. The remaining 50% plus Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA) is payable one month before the charter commence.  APA is intended to cover the operating expenses of the charter and is equivalent to 25% of the total charter fee. All outstanding bills or remaining credit will be settled at the end of your charter.
  6. Can I specify the food and the wine to be served aboard the yacht?
    Yes, we will ask you to complete a detailed questionnaire describing the preferences and special needs of your party to make your charter a fabulous experience.
  7. Do all yachts accept children on board?
    Most yachts are very welcoming to children but the crew cannot provide babysitting.
  8. Can I smoke on the yacht?
    Smoking is not permitted inside most yachts and for safety reasons in cabins and staterooms on all yachts.  
  9. How much should I top the crew?
    Crew gratuities are normally in the region of 10% of the charter fee, but can be adjusted up or down according to your level of satisfaction.
  10. Am I covered by insurance?
    We strongly recommend that charterers take out Cancellation and Curtailment Insurance,that all the members of the charter party are covered by personal Accident and Medical insurance, and that their personal effects are insured against theft, loss or damage.
  11. Am I permitted to use the yacht's waterspout toys and SCUBA equipment?
    In certain countries a Certificate of Competency is required for jet skis, and countries in certain areas prohibit the use of motorized water toys altogether. If the yacht has SCUBA equipment on board, it may only be used by certified divers holding a certified PADI license or equivalent.
